Apheleia Restaurant Group, a Dallas-based restaurant company owned by Richard and Tiffanee Ellman, has partnered with two-time James Beard nominated Chef/Partner John Tesar and restaurateur Joe Palladino (owner of several successful concepts including Nick and Sam’s Steakhouse) to bring Quill Lounge to the Design District of Dallas. Slated to open on March 3, the upscale cocktail lounge will offer globally inspired tapas and cocktails through a rotating seasonal menu.

“I’ve created a tapas-style menu that takes diners around the globe,” Chef Tesar says. “It’s the sights, smells and tastes that have shaped my career all on one menu. With new inspirations and as seasons change, the menu will change as well, frequently, with a few favorites remaining as staples.” To complement Tesar’s globally inspired dishes, bar manager James Slater has created a cutting-edge cocktail menu, which will also rotate as the menu evolves.

Upon walking into the space, guests will be transported into the sleek lounge boasting rich hues, European accents and a circular cathedral-style ceiling. Perfect for any occasion, guests are able to indulge in tapas and cocktails, enjoy hors d'oeuvres in front of a fireplace, or reserve a table with premium bottle service.

“We are beyond excited to offer an experience to guests that exceeds their culinary expectations,” says co-owner Ellman. “As the Dallas restaurant scene continues to evolve, Quill Lounge will be at the forefront. “

The Quill Lounge will be located at 1628 Oak Lawn. Dinner and cocktails are served from 4 p.m. to late on Monday through Saturday. In addition to the main lounge area, the Lounge boasts a distinct private dining room called “The Ink Room,” which can be arranged for private dinners catered by the Quill Lounge culinary team, Oak or Nick and Sam’s.
