New York Cruise Lines, Inc. announced the opening of Fish Bar at North River Landing, a new three-story seafood lounge and restaurant on a 10,000-square-foot yacht located at Pier 81 on West 42nd Street on the Hudson River in New York City. Fish Bar, opening in time for summer 2016, joins North River Lobster Company, the award-winning floating lobster shack, which opened in May 2014, and remains one of the hottest casual dining spots in New York City.

With the addition of Fish Bar, New York Cruise Lines is establishing a new dining and entertainment destination at Pier 81, North River Landing. In Hudson River Park and convenient to Times Square, the High Line, Hudson Yards, and the new 7 subway extension, North River Landing will be a prime destination for locals and visitors alike, with a fleet of floating restaurants and entertainment venues emulating the world’s best urban rooftops and waterfront social settings.

Designed by renowned architect Andrew Franz, designer of Bar Q and La Marina, the interiors of Fish Bar merge the upscale ambiance of a Manhattan cocktail bar and the relaxed, convivial scene of a seaside Mediterranean tapas restaurant. Fish Bar will feature a 3,000-square-foot outdoor top deck and 6,000-square-feet of bi-level interior dining space, with expansive indoor and outdoor bars, accommodating more than 450 guests. Fish Bar’s menu selections will transport guests to the Mediterranean with a unique selection of shareable small plates from both the land and sea, with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Wine will be available by both the glass and bottle from an extensive and diverse collection, as well as specialty cocktails and craft beer and champagne, from a dedicated craft beer and champagne bar. A wine discovery program, curated by the in-house sommelier, will provide guests with the opportunity to taste an ever-rotating selection of specialty boutique wines, which will be suggested alongside delectable food pairings.

Like North River Lobster Company, Fish Bar will distinguish itself by offering patrons short sailings on the Hudson River, several times a day, boasting sweeping 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline with an “out of city” experience.

“The tremendously successful launch of North River Lobster Company in 2014 and the rapid commercial and residential development around us, drove our excitement to launch our second floating restaurant to cater to the ever-growing demand for unique and lively outdoor spots in New York City,” says Danny Boockvar, chief executive officer of New York Cruise Lines, Inc.
