HMSHost, global restaurateur and leader in travel dining in airports and motorways, announced today the appointment of Sarah Naqvi to CIO, responsible for overseeing all Information Systems for North America. Sarah will lead HMSHost’s continued advancements in information technology and customer service as the company focuses on developing solutions that drive efficiencies and enhance the traveler experience.

Sarah brings more than 20 years of IT experience to her new role, most recently holding the position of HMSHost’s Vice President of Information Systems. Sarah joined HMSHost in 1999, and quickly progressed to holding decision-making authority for IT development and expansions, focusing on IT organization alignment with the business, compliance, system integration, emerging technologies, enterprise architectures, ASP vendor management, international expansion, and application development and rollout. Prior to joining HMSHost, Sarah held IT positions at National Wildlife Federation, GE Information Services, and Bell Atlantic.

“Sarah’s IT expertise has enriched HMSHost’s operations significantly, helping to secure the company’s position as the leader in airport and motorway dining,” says Tom Fricke HMSHost president and CEO. “I am very proud of her many accomplishments and am extremely confident in her future success as CIO.”

Over the course of Sarah’s career, she has successfully managed a diverse set of technologies, positioning IT as a strategic business partner rather than simply a technology solution provider. In addition, as HMSHost expanded its presence in Asia, Sarah was responsible for identifying and implementing infrastructure and technological solutions in Hyderabad and Bangalore airports, working in collaboration with local airport authorities. Sarah has also played a pivotal role in HMSHost’s Innovation Committee.

Sarah has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College.
