To honor the Cinderella story of this year’s 2013 Men’s NCAA Tournament and its hometown team – Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) – Elevation Burger Fort Myers (9902 Gulf Coast Main St.) will host a March Madness celebration March 29. That evening (at 10:17 p.m. EDT), the No. 15 seed Eagles will take on the No. 3 seed Florida Gators in the Sweet 16 South Regional semifinal.

According to general manager Sean Rowland, festivities will include BOGO Friday (Buy One burger [excluding the Vertigo Burger], fries and drink, Get One burger free) for any student, staff, or alumni with a valid FGCU ID; hand-scooped vanilla ice cream milkshakes topped with blueberries and Key lime honoring the university’s colors of cobalt blue and emerald; “Guess the Score” prize-winning contests throughout the game; and a big-screen TV for guests to watch the FGCU game live, as well as the semifinal match-up between Kansas and Michigan airing at 7:47 p.m. EDT. Elevation Burger will also have extended hours that evening to accommodate game-watching.

“We are avid supporters of the FGCU community and could not be more ecstatic for our hometown team,” Rowland says. “The Eagles’ tournament success is an incredible accomplishment our city can be proud of, and we are thrilled we can provide both great food and a family atmosphere for the Fort Myers community to watch what is sure to be an exciting game.”

Elevation Burger prides itself on an “elevated” experience and fresh approach, offering great-tasting 100 percent USDA-certified organic, grass-fed, free-range beef burgers. The franchised chain offers many healthier alternatives to standard fast food choices, including two variations of a veggie burger, lettuce-wrapped burgers, unprocessed six-month-aged cheddar cheese, and cookies made with organic butter and eggs. Elevation Burger is also the only “better burger” restaurant to feature organic, hardwood-smoked uncured bacon on its menu.
