The 2011 Sustainability Report of GOJO Industries, Inc., has won accolades in a nationwide competition to recognize work in corporate social responsibility.

GOJO Industries, Inc. is the inventor of PURELL Instant Hand Sanitizer and distributes PURELL Hand Sanitizer in away-from-home markets throughout the world. GOJO has products and programs to kill germs on hands in a variety of markets, including foodservice and food processing. GOJO also manufactures and distributes a full line of products under GOJO and PROVON brand names.

The GOJO Sustainability Report was honored February 11 in the PR News CSR Awards Competition, which attracted entrants from major U.S. corporations. GOJO was a nominee in the Annual Report category along with Hormel Foods Corp., Office Depot Foundation, Wells Fargo & Co., and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. The award was presented at The National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

GOJO established ambitious goals at its 2009 Sustainability Summit in the areas of social, environmental, and economic sustainability. The 2011 sustainability report outlined progress toward each of these goals, and told the story largely through the voices and experiences of GOJO employees.

“We are fortunate to be in a business where we can make a real difference in social sustainability – saving lives and making life better for people through the types of products and programs we provide,” says Marcella Kanfer Rolnick, GOJO vice chair.

“Through our Sustainability Report we will continue to share our efforts to increase sustainability, green product innovation, and reduce operational impacts through reduction in water use, waste, and greenhouse gases.”

The GOJO Sustainability Report was produced under the direction of Nicole Koharik, GOJO global sustainability marketing director, with creative concept, writing, and design by Innis Maggiore, Canton.
