On December 15, the president of the Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani in Napoli, Italy, Sergio Miccu, will make more than 200 specialty Neapolitan pizzas and distribute them to the victims of Hurricane Sandy in Red Hook, Brooklyn. President, Pizzaiuolo Miccu will be hosted at Enoteca on Court Restaurant, which has been volunteering their time and talents feeding the workers at Visitation Church in Red Hook since Sandy hit. The pizza will be transported and distributed by Visitation Church in Red Hook and the Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens at 1:30 p.m. at Visitation Church, 98 Richards St., Red Hook.

Marco Chirico, owner of Enoteca, says, “Sergio Miccu has come to offer all that he can, his talents and ability to make this special pizza. Some may say victims need cleaning products and help rebuilding their homes, but they also need some fun and holiday cheer—everybody loves pizza!”

Visitation Church has been one of the largest distribution points for the Red Hook community of goods and food since Sandy affected the area. Open to helping all and assisted by Catholic Charities for Brooklyn and Queens, the church has been a source of immediate assistance, even though they too were heavily affected and sustained damage.

The pizzas will be prepared on stage at Entoca on Court with the help of numerous volunteers before being brought to Visitation church and distributed.
