Sugar Foods Corporation, a leading privately held food manufacturer, announced that T.A. Dowd of Harahan, Louisiana, has been named its Broker of the Year for 2011. 

Sean Dowd, president of T.A. Dowd, accepted the award on April 26th, 2012, at Dowd headquarters. 

With more than 35 years in the business, T.A. Dowd is one of the oldest food brokerages in the country. 

Sugar Foods representative Mike Koury, regional sales manager for the Southwest region, was on hand to present the Crystal Trophy Award to T.A. Dowd principals. 

The criteria for the award involved measuring overall performance against sales goals, penetration of new items, and overall market success.

“From their headquarters near New Orleans, T.A. Dowd performed exceptionally well in 2011, under very difficult and competitive circumstances,” Koury says. “As a company, we’re pleased to have this opportunity to congratulate the team at T.A.
