Seeing a need for a fresh and original magazine to serve leaders in the dynamic and innovative full-service restaurant industry, Food News Media will begin publishing FSR magazine this November. Complimentary subscriptions are available at www.fsrmagazine.com/subscribe.

Last year Food News Media launched Restaurant Management, a digital suite of information products for the restaurant industry, but quickly saw additional opportunities in print. “A print magazine wasn’t part of our original vision,” says Greg Sanders, group publisher of Food News Media. “However, it quickly became apparent that there are information voids in this market we can best fill with print.”

Full-service restaurants notch sales of approximately $270 billion per year, accounting for roughly half of restaurant industry sales, according to data from the National Restaurant Association. “These restaurants offer some of the most current food trends and original tastes,” says Sanders. “They are innovators. We felt a fresh and innovative approach to the information needs of this market was called for.”

The premiere issue will feature a cover interview with New Orleans restaurant legend Ralph Brennan, whose restaurant group includes such brands as Red Fish Grill, Ralph’s on the Park, Heritage Grill, café b, Café NOMA, and Ralph Brennan Catering & Events.

“We were very pleased that Mr. Brennan agreed to appear on the cover of our premiere issue,” Sanders says. “The Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group epitomizes the innovation we see in the full-service restaurant industry, and it serves as a great statement of intent of what FSR is about.”

Other content in the premiere issue includes an exclusive report on the top states for full-service restaurant growth, capitalizing on the snout-to-tail dining trend, profitably managing the bar wait, and more.

The web address of the new magazine will be www.FSRmagazine.com. The address currently rolls to the Restaurant Management web site.

FSR will have an initial circulation of 24,000 owners, C-level executives, chefs, and other decision-makers in the full-service segment, including both independent and chain operations. It will be published bi-monthly, beginning with the November 2012 issue.
