Started by three friends who had little money and even less restaurant experience, Sticky Fingers Smokehouse announces a milestone 20th year anniversary as it begins celebrations in its 16 locations in the Carolinas, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida.

Recognized for serving some of the best hickory-smoked barbecue in the Southeast and creating award-winning barbecue sauce sold in 5,000 retail locations across the country, Sticky Fingers has enhanced its menu and will offer food specials for its customers throughout the year in honor of the anniversary.

“It’s our customers who have made this 20-year milestone possible. It’s amazing to have people who are as passionate about Sticky Fingers as we are,” says Robert Patterson, operating partner, Sticky Fingers, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. “We remain true to our original founders’ ideals of great customer service, reasonable prices and having a passion for ‘fall-off-the-bone-delicious’ ribs, pulled pork barbecue and chicken.”

The first location opened in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, in 1992 and remains the flagship store for Sticky Fingers. That’s where the five barbecue sauces–Memphis Original, Carolina Classic, Tennessee Whiskey, Carolina Sweet and Habañero Hot–came to life. The sweet smell of hickory wood permeates through each restaurant as all of the smoked meats are still slow cooked on-site in barbecue pits and watched closely by our resident pit masters.

“It is that continued commitment to tradition and authenticity that makes our restaurants and signature barbecue sauces so popular,” Patterson says.

Sticky Fingers Smokehouse has three locations in the Charleston area: the original location at 341 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Mt Pleasant; downtown Charleston at 235 Meeting St.; and 1200 North Main St. in Summerville.

To celebrate the 20 years, Sticky Fingers is offering dining specials each month on the 20th through March 2013. The special deal for July 20th will be the Barbecue Trio for the 1992 price of $10.99.

In addition, more than 20 new items have been added to the menu, offering more deluxe burgers including the Seriously Sticky Burger; a variety of new vegetable choices; and several new desserts.

For the first time, seafood entree selections of catfish and shrimp are new to the expanded menu. Guests can enjoy stand-alone seafood items or pair them with the Sticky Fingers’ famous ribs or served high as a southern favorite, Catfish Po Boy.

The revised menu also reflects the tradition the founders had of offering the very best selection of made-from-scratch menu items using only the highest quality ingredients. Chefs whip up menu items by hand and prepare them daily, in-house at each location.
