Micros Systems, a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant has expanded its partnership with Micros through the deployment of Micros webOrdering, a fully integrated online ordering program, and the cloud-based back office platform mymicros.net.

Micros converted Bertuccis’ legacy online ordering application to Micros webOrdering across its 94 corporate locations within a 30-day period. Micros’s mymicros.net business intelligence solution, with the Micros myinventory and mylabormodules, are also being implemented across all 94 locations.

Bertucci’s, a New England favorite that is best known for its brick oven pizza and classic Italian dishes, has relied on Micros technology for 22 years.

After Bertucci’s incumbent online ordering vendor announced it would cease operations within 30 days, Bertucci’s turned to its long time technology partner, Micros, with requirements for web design, system performance, and project management agility that included an aggressive 30 day deadline for implementation across all locations to ensure no down time with its online ordering service.

Micros accepted this challenge and converted the sites to Micros webOrdering ahead of schedule and under the projected budget, with improved brand design, expanded functionality, and streamlined integration and data management techniques. Micros webOrdering allows Bertucci’s customers to place orders over the Web.

Once an order is placed online, it is conveniently sent to the Micros POS Workstation and processed like any other carry out order with no interruption to employee workflow.

“We are thrilled and impressed that Micros was able to help us implement the Micros webOrdering solution at our 94 locations and meet our 30-day implementation requirement necessitated by the changes with our legacy vendor,” says David Lloyd, Bertucci’s CEO.

“When we previously started implementation of an online ordering program over a year ago, the Micros webOrdering application was not yet deployed in the United States. We are excited that it is now available and that it has been installed at Bertucci’s with increased functionality and cost savings from a fully integrated approach.”

Bertucci’s will also leverage Micros mymicros.net business intelligence platform to improve inventory management through the Micros myinventory module and manage its workforce with the Micros mylabor module. The browser-based data warehouse, mymicros.net, will aid Bertucci’s in tightly controlling operations by providing data intensive reports across the enterprise with drill down options to view statistics at each of its 94 locations in real-time.

“Micros cloud-based, back-of-house solutions have proven to be cutting-edge and the best fit for our operations,” says Brian Connell, CFO at Bertucci’s. “By using a single source provider, we are able to build one relationship where there are fewer integration requirements between vendors, significantly reduced costs, and a consolidation of purchasing.”

“After having worked with Bertucci’s for 22 years, our Micros team understands its organizational structure, business concept, processes, constraints, and requirements,” says Jeff Pinc, vice president of Micros’ major accounts restaurants. “Our long term relationship with Bertucci’s combined with next generation product innovations provide the basis for an expanded partnership and a strategic set of technology solutions.”
