Lauded Atlanta chef Micah Willix is pleased to announce his new restaurant concept, Latitude Food and Drink, opened at Phipps Plaza Nov. 11. A veteran of Atlanta’s culinary scene and former chef at Ecco, Willix brings his focused, ingredient-driven acumen to Latitude.

Known for his keen sense of process and procurement, Willix has been hailed as one of Atlanta’s finest chefs by local media and food cognoscenti. Latitude offers a thoughtfully curated, flavor-focused menu along with a wine selection of more than 60 old and new world bottles keenly pegged to pair with Willix’s offerings, as well as vibrant, re-imagined classic cocktails. Willix’s dishes are a mix of globally and regionally sourced, high-quality meats and proteins, coupled with produce and dairy.

The menu is categorized with an emphasis on a crudo and sharing selection that entices guests with options including: tuna ceviche with charred avocado, lime juice, and extra virgin olive oil; beef tartare with roasted garlic, fried capers, and fresh aioli; scallop crudo with saffron, fennel, and champagne vinegar; beef kushiyaki with cabbage, coconut, and black sesame; and crispy eggplant with tomato conserva, housemade ricotta, and pine nuts.

Composed entrees will impress under the main section of the menu with items such as: pan-fried pork chop with artichoke confit, tomato, and oregano; golden tile fish with quinoa, red kuri squash, and tangerine; and braised lamb shank with fresh chiles and cashews.

The lunch menu will create an opportunity for mall goers and business professionals to enjoy a quick and chef-crafted meal. Menu highlights at lunch include: warm bitter green salad with soft-boiled egg and chevre; crab roll with jonah crab, cabbage, mint, and cilantro; and a lamb burger with gruyere cheese, rosemary aioli, and arugula.

“This is definitely a change from what I’ve been cooking for the past five years,” Willix says. “Latitude is an opportunity for me to explore more options of different cuisines and cultures, but I still want to cook and create dishes that are simple and close to the source–grassroots.”

Together with industry veterans and power-team partners Kenny Perlman, formerly of Seasons 52 and Houston’s, and Emily Streib Marcil, formerly of The Capital Grille and currently of Second Growth LLC, Willix brings a world-cuisine that focuses on flavor, form, and seasonally inspired ingredients to Buckhead.

“Latitude offers the city something special and unique, the perfect complement to Atlanta’s already burgeoning dining scene,” Marcil says.
