Tam O’Shanter, a member of the Lawry’s family of restaurants and one of the oldest restaurants in Los Angeles, is hosting a special, no-cover-charge performance by rock and punk legends Sean and Zander on Thursday, August 8 at 9:00 p.m. with opening act Jayke Orvis & The Broken Band.

Zander Schloss, Sean and Zander’s multi-instrumentalist, is best known as the bass player for the Circle Jerks and the Weirdos, as well as for his musical contributions to numerous indie films including Sid & Nancy, Repo Man, Permanent Record, and Tapeheads. Sean Wheeler, the duo’s vocalist, is best known as the frontman for punk rock band Throw Rag. In 2010, Schloss released the album, Walk Thee Invisible with musical partner and collaborator Sean Wheeler and produced by Gus Seyffert. Wheeler and Schloss have opened for The Pogues, Mark Lanegan, Masters of Reality, Flogging Molly, Mariachi El Bronx, and X. While the legendary musicians are renowned for their rambunctious sound, the performance at The Tam will feature a hybrid of folk, country, pop, ragtime, bluegrass, and gospel. The playlist will include selections that highlight the frenzied energy and spirit of the duo’s previous bands, but with a soulful dash of Americana and charm not often heard west of the Mississippi.

A founding member of The .357 String Band and current member of the Goddamn Gallows, Jayke Orvis is a visionary who constantly proves he is ahead of his time through his timeless music. The songs on his solo effort, It’s All Been Said, reveal a fragile soul that is at once troubled and irresistible. His depictions of love are authentic and raw, and the story of his life is weaved throughout the album.

For the event, guests will be able to enjoy craft draught beers and PBR cans all night long. In addition, guests can delight in The Tam’s unique and special Ale & Sandwich Bar menu, which captures the delectable essence of premier modern American pub food. The menu features a wonderful range of tasty small bites that let guests sample several items while staying within a reasonable budget. The modern pub fare also includes larger plates and will be offered along with the restaurant’s hand-carved plates, signature side dishes, and other traditional items. Additionally, guests will be able to enjoy the Tam’s new and unrivaled cheese and charcuterie program, which features perfectly matured and tempered artisanal cheeses from every corner of the globe along with premier meats, all of which are freshly sliced to order at the bar’s cheese and charcuterie station.

“Sean & Zander graced our venue earlier this year, and we’re thrilled they’re here again to give our guests another unforgettable show,” says John Lindquist, general manager of Tam O’Shanter. “Combining these legends with Jayke Orvis is guaranteed to produce an unforgettable night of music and partying.”
