Plugrá European-Style Butter , a leading gourmet butter from Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), is proud to sponsor the 2014 American Culinary Federation (ACF) Pastry Chef of the Year national competition.

Known for its legendary barbecue and growing food scene, Kansas City will play host this year’s national conference, and Plugrá could not be more excited to be back in its hometown.

The event will pull out all stops with creative culinary demonstrations, innovative educational programming, and the opportunity to network with some of the world’s leading chefs and culinary leaders. Building off the four regional conferences, the ACF Pastry Chef of the Year title will recognize a pastry chef who has displayed a passion for the craft, has an accomplished reputation in the pastry industry, and has helped educate others by sharing skills and knowledge.

“The ACF is the largest professional chefs' organization in North America, and we could not be more proud to be able to sponsor this year’s competition in our hometown of Kansas City. We are truly amazed by the tremendous talent and extreme passion demonstrated by these talented chefs— it’s incredible,” says Ashley Campbell, senior associate brand manager for Plugrá.

Plugrá will also host an interactive culinarian education demonstration, led by Chef Jacquy Pfeiffer, world-renowned chef and co-founder/academic dean for student affairs at The French Pastry School. Chef Pfeiffer will demonstrate a Tea-Time Chocolate Cake with Hazelnuts, Caramel, and Alunga Ganache. Following the demonstration, Plugrá will host a book signing with Chef Pfieffer, featuring The Art of French Pastry, winner of the 2014 James Beard Award for Best Cookbook, Dessert & Baking.
