Chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author Guy Fieri has announced a new location for his signature Johnny Garlic’s restaurant.

Expanding the brand into Southern California, the new Bakersfield location will be located at 9000 Ming Ave. in The Marketplace Shopping Center in the former Coldwater Creek location.

Scheduled to open in January 2015, the 250-seat restaurant will feature a 40-seat bar and a spacious outdoor patio area. Johnny Garlic’s Bakersfield will be open seven days a week serving Fieri’s signature dishes such as Cajun chicken fettuccini alfredo, apricot jalapeño cedar planked roasted salmon, applewood bacon-wrapped shrimp, and the New York City Blue Moon Burger Bash 2013 Winner, the mac ‘n’ cheese bacon burger.

The Flavor Town Feature allows patrons a taste of Fieri’s creations seen on Guy’s Big Bite, one of Fieri’s Food Network shows. For the more adventurous diner, the Hunter’s Creation, named after Guy’s son Hunter, showcases rotating exotic game selections such as antelope, elk, alligator, wild boar, ostrich, rattlesnake, and rabbit.

"I am thrilled to take Johnny Garlic’s first step into Southern California with our new Bakersfield location," says Fieri. " We are confident that residents will love the flavor-packed dishes.”

The restaurant menu includes kid-friendly dishes, vegetarian and gluten-sensitive options, and a fully-stocked bar including the famous nearly half-gallon bowlas.

Johnny Garlic’s will employ more than 120 people in the Bakersfield area for front and heart-of-house positions.
