Euphoria Festival Highlights Greenville Dining Culture

Euphoria tickets are now on sale for the 11th food, wine + music festival in Greenville, South Carolina, September 22 to 25. 

Named one of the “10 Southern Food Festivals You Need to Taste” by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “Top 20 Events in the Southeast,” and praised in USA Today, Oprah Magazine, and The New York Times – euphoria highlights Greenville’s culture, depth of talent and outstanding revitalized downtown. Drawing over 6,000 guests from 30 states and multiple countries, this four-day weekend features celebrated chefs, celebrity singers and songwriters, craft brewers, cookbook authors, sommeliers, and unique luxury experiences.

Euphoria has a new look and feel for its 11th food, wine + music festival. Its home base has expanded to include the West End near Fluor Field, and while signature events remain, new events and locations have been added celebrating Greenville’s thriving downtown, and beyond. With an emphasis on intimate culinary, musical and learning experiences celebrating the South, grab a front row seat to experience the South’s most beloved pitmasters, America’s Got Talent’s Benton Blount, Peabody award-winning Chef Vivian Howard and three-star Michelin chef Curtis Duffy of Grace in Chicago. 

VIP & Sporting Events, Thursday to Saturday.

VIP guests may choose to attend all three experiences: Sip, Eat, & Listen. These events include a Southern cocktail event with Robert Moss, author of the new “Southern Spirits: Four Hundred Years of Drinking in the American South,” and more. And euphoria’s Sporting experiences offer a professional level ride with pro cyclist George Hincapie as well as a moderate ride on the Swamp Rabbit Trail with Border Springs’ shepherd, Craig Rogers, both followed by lavish fall picnics.

Songwriters Recipe Thursday 7 to 10 p.m. 

This years’ “Songwriters Recipe” will be held at the rustic-chic new Revel Event Center and welcomes Grammy award-winning songwriters Tim Nichols and Kelley Lovelace, best known for his number No. 1 hit, “He Didn’t Have to be” with country music artist Brad Paisley. 

Euphoria Celebrates Greenville’s Greatest Thursday 8:30 p.m. to midnight. 

This year, euphoria opens its four-day weekend with a tasting highlighting the Upstate’s extraordinary talent, from chefs, farmers and artisans, to brewers, and distillers.

Taste of the South, Friday 6 to 10 p.m. 

Friday’s Taste of the South, located in Greenville’s Wyche Pavillion—the original Duke Mayonnaise Factory in downtown Greenville—will spotlight America’s premier chefs from all corners of the South:

FEAST brings euphoria’s nationally acclaimed chefs and producers together for intimate tastings, once-in-a-lifetime learning experiences, and live cooking and beverage demonstrations for a new and improved tasting tent experience in euphoria’s new location on the West End near Fluor Field. Euphoria’s food truck rodeo with America’s Got Talent’s Benton Blount!

Guest Chef Takeovers, Saturday 7p.m. 

Three-star MICHELIN Chef and Owner Curtis Duffy of Grace in Chicago, Illinois returns, and will be joined by an additional Michelin-starred chef for an elaborate once-in-a-lifetime multi-course dinner at The Lazy Goat. Guests will enjoy wine pairings and artisan breads from La Farm Bakery’s Lionel Vatinet, a two-time James Beard Foundation semifinalist for “Outstanding Baker.”

Farm-to-Fork All-Female Dinner with Chef Vivian Howard, from Chef and The Farmer in Kinston, North Carolina, and the Peabody award-winning PBS series, “A Chef’s Life’s.” Howard joins just prior to her cookbook debut, “Deep Run Roots: Stories and Recipes from My Corner of the South.” This family-style feast includes the Upstate’s own Teryi Youngblood of Passerelle and Heidi Trull from Grits & Groceries at Serenity Farm.

Pop! A Champagne Dinner features James Beard Foundation 2016 Finalist Justin Devillier of La Petite Grocery in New Orleans at the new Halls Chophouse for an elegant champagne-paired, multi-course dinner.

Fire + Cider Pop-Up features Chef Craig Deihl from Artisan Meat Share in Charleston, alongside Cider Expert Mattie Beason of Black Twig Cider House in Durham, North Carolina, and his Spanish txotx! Bacon Brother’s Anthony Gray is the host for this casual, convivial party at a secret pop-up location, to be announced a few days prior. 

Southern Roots brings South Carolina native Suzanne Cupps, Chef de Cuisine of Untitled restaurant in the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City, to join Jason Scholz from Stella’s Southern Bistro for an artful evening.

North Meets South: A Celebration of the Carolina’s, an annual euphoria dinner at American Grocery with Chef Joe Clarke, welcomes Joe Kindred from Kindred in Davidson, North Carolina,  chef/owner of one of Bon Appetit’s “Best New Restaurants of 2015.”

Sunday’s Brunch brings the South’s finest barbecue to the heart of Greenville—from whole hog barbecue to beef brisket—to the tune of Shawn Spencer Band’s modern Americana.

Healthy Lunchtime Throwdown, Sunday 11 a.m. 

Euphoria’s 2nd annual kids cooking competition, Healthy Lunchtime Throwdown, offers kids ages 8 to 13 the opportunity to compete on stage at a family-friendly event with Michelin chefs as their sous-chefs; the winning dish will be incorporated into all Greenville County Schools. Judges from LiveWell Greenville, Mill Village Farms and Cooking Light return this year, along with Tanya Steel, Director of the Julia Child Award and founder of the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge and Kids’ State Dinner at The White House.

Sunday Supper

One of euphoria’s most sought-after food events welcomes James Beard Foundation 2012 winner Best Chef: South Chris Hastings of Hot and Hot Fish Club and most recently, OvenBird, both in Birmingham, Alabama, for a gracious supper served in historic, open-air Wyche Pavillion next to the Reedy River.
