The Charmant Hotel in La Crosse, Wisconsin, announced a new addition to its outdoor Rooftop Terrace—a wood-fired pizza oven offering guests a selection of summer-inspired bites in time for the 2016 al fresco dining season. The lively Rooftop Terrace showcases sweeping views of the city and a full indoor-outdoor bar offering the new menu of hand-crafted pizzas, served fresh from the custom wood-fire oven.

The new pizza menu features selections such as: Margherita with mozzarella, tomato, basil, and extra virgin olive oil; Housemade Sausage with Italico and mozzarella; Roasted Mushroom with fontina, tellegio, garlic thyme oil, herbs, and arugula; Asparagus with speck, scallions, fontina, mozzarella, and egg; and Tarte Flambé with onion, bacon, Fromage Blanc, and parsley. Pizzas are served Wednesday through Sunday and cost between $9 and $18.

Additionally, guests can drink in the 360-degree views of La Crosse and the Mississippi River while sipping on The Charmant Hotel’s new exclusive craft beer, “1898 Saison le Charmant,” a saison-style ale created specifically for the hotel by Pearl Street Brewery.  The name of the brew is inspired by the 1898 Joseph B. Funke candy company that once occupied the building. The 1898 Saison le Charmant ($6) is only available on draft in the lobby bar and rooftop terrace.

The bar serves beer, wine, and handcrafted cocktails to accompany the Rooftop Terrace’s new specialty: wood-fired pizza. Bar snacks, such as marinated olives, cheese straws, and Marcona almonds, are available for noshing. The Rooftop Terrace is open as the weather permits, and features canvas sails to offset direct sunlight during the day and gas-burning fireplaces lending warmth at night.
