Omni La Costa Resort & Spa announced the opening of Bob’s Steak & Chop House, a traditional American Prime Steakhouse, which will debut its first southern California location at the resort in June 2016.

“Bob’s is recognized as one of the best steakhouses in the country, known for serving large cuts of prime steaks and chops and the finest seafood, as well as a lively atmosphere and exceptional service, making it a mouth-watering addition to the North County dining scene,” says Gary Sims, managing director of Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. “The portions are large, the drinks are big, and everything from the perfectly seasoned prime filet to the decadent peanut butter and chocolate brownie sundae will leave guests ready to come back for more.”

Each Bob’s location has its own unique personality. The Carlsbad location will reflect the rich history of La Costa, which opened in 1965 as a playground for the Hollywood elite, offering every amenity imaginable. The historical photos and décor will showcase the golf legends who have played on the resort’s award-winning courses as well as the celebrities, athletes and politicians who have enjoyed the resort’s luxurious health and wellness amenities.

Patrick Sarte will lead the restaurant as general manager, bringing his culinary expertise from both the restaurant and hospitality industries to the resort’s global guests. Prior to Omni La Costa, Sarte was the general manager at Spencer’s for Steaks and Chops, 2050 Lounge and 48 Craft Bar in San Jose. Executive Chef Justin Huntington, Omni La Costa’s former executive sous chef, will execute the culinary offerings at Bob’s. With more than nine years of experience, Huntington will bring to life Bob’s Steak & Chop House menu.

Bob’s Steak & Chop House has defined itself by delivering simple elegance and exceptional service to each and every guest. Bob’s offers top quality prime cuts of beef—sourced for 23 years from the same Chicago meat supplier. Bob’s prime beef is hand selected from the top 2 percent of all U.S. beef produced, house trimmed, and expertly grilled. Each Bob’s entrée is accompanied by your choice of potato and Bob’s iconic glazed carrot. A jar of homemade pickles and a hot loaf of bread start the meal off, followed by freshly prepared appetizers, oversized salads, and finally, the entrée. Known for large cuts of prime meat and excellent seafood, over-sized drinks and their iconic glazed carrot, Dallas-born Bob’s exemplifies the adage, “everything is bigger in Texas.”
