It’s a refuge from the rush. A refreshing way to relax. And an economical option for a late lunch, mid-afternoon snack or early dinner. One thing chef Matthew Ellison’s new mid-day menu is not, however, is ordinary.

“I wanted to craft a menu that’s accessible to everyone, but rewarding to all – from cash-strapped students to excitement-hungry foodies,” says Ellison. “More than anything, I just wanted to give people a great way to spend an afternoon.”

Ellison’s Mid-Day menu, offered daily from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., features small and large plates, along with mid-day beverage specials. Current seasonal selections include:

Small Plates

  • 1977 Muffuletta Beer Cheese Soup or the Soup of the Day
  • Marinated Olives: warmed and served with grilled baguette 
  • Seasonal Flatbread:  Provolone, ricotta, asparagus, roasted tomatoes, and basil
  • House Salad: Baby greens tossed with fresh herbs, sliced shallot, and roasted shallot-balsamic vinaigrette
  • Roasted Beet Salad: Roasted red beets tossed with mizuna, citrus, avocado, feta cheese, and a toasted cumin and orange vinaigrette
  • BBQ Beef Tip: Thousand Hill’s hanger steak skewered and grilled with house-made barbecue sauce and served with apple kohlrabi slaw tossed with creamed horseradish dressing
  • Fish‘n Chips: Freshly breaded walleye with sea salt-vinegar fries, house-made tartar sauce

 Large Plates

  • Frito Misto: Breaded and fried calamari and shrimp with pepperoncini, zucchini and yellow squash. Accompanied by lemon aioli
  • Grilled Chicken Caesar
  • Grilled Atlantic Salmon Caesar Salad
  • Mac ’n Cheese: Orecchiette pasta baked with Fischer Farm’s bacon, shaved shallots, thyme, four cheese sauce, bread crumbs
  • The “Muffuletta”:  Fischer Farm’s ham, Italian meats, pepper jack and provolone cheese, olive relish on fresh focaccia
  • The Milton Square Burger: Ground Angus beef with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles on toasted potato bun
  • Asian Burger: Ground Fischer Farm’s pork, peanuts, five spice, scallions, Napa cabbage slaw, spicy peanut dressing
