The 1st Annual Butchertown Porktoberfest will be held at The Pointe, 1205 East Washington Street, on Friday, October 11th from 5:00p.m.–10:00p.m. This barbeque and pork inspired culinary competition will feature live music by Hog Operation and Johnny Berry, local brew from Apocalypse Brewery and food samples from more than 15 of Louisville's finest restaurants. (Vegetarian options also available.) Admission is free and proceeds will benefit the Butchertown Neighborhood Association Inc.

Participating restaurants include Atria, Cellar Door Chocolates, Decca, Farm to Fork, Harvest, Holy Grale, Jack Knife, Momma's Pickles Mustard and BBQ, Monkey Wrench, Morels, RYE, St. Charles Exchange, Stellar Sweets, The Bristol and Wiltshire.  

A cash prize will be awarded to the winner of the five categories: Best Overall ($1000), People's Choice ($500), Best Vegetarian ($500), Most Creative ($500), and Best Dessert ($500). The Best Overall category will be selected based on taste, presentation and originality by a panel of judges, and the "People's Choice," "Best Vegetarian," "Most Creative," and "Best Dessert" will be awarded by the attendees. Voting will be administered by ballot and each attendee will receive one ballot upon entry to the event. In addition to the cash, all winners will receive an awesome Porktoberfest Trophy.
