FSR magazine, a thought leader for chefs and other professionals in the full-service restaurant industry, named Laura D’Alessandro editor of the publication, effective January 8.

D’Alessandro joins FSR with several years’ experience in both the B2B publishing and food media worlds. Previously, she served as food editor for Tastemade, an online network creating food, travel, and lifestyle content. At Tastemade, D’Alessandro conceptualized, developed, and styled video content for its Facebook channel.

Prior to Tastemade, D’Alessandro served as managing editor of Public Power Magazine, a trade publication covering public-power utilities in the U.S. Since 2014, she’s also independently worked as a food blogger, recipe developer, and workshop leader specializing in plant-forward foods.

“Laura’s experience in both the food and business media worlds—as well as her culinary expertise—made her the perfect candidate to lead FSR,” says Sam Oches, editorial director of parent Food News Media. “We’re thrilled to have Laura guide FSR’s editorial vision as we continue to serve the information needs of the full-service restaurant industry.”

“Joining the team as editor of FSR is truly a dream job for me,” D’Alessandro says. “It blends my years of experience in storytelling with my obsession with food. I’m so excited to get started.”

Since 2012, FSR has delivered news and insights to full-service restaurant professionals and owners through its monthly print issue and online news source, FoodNewsfeed.com. Recent features have included a look at how Chef John Currence plans to expand his influence beyond the South, a deep-dive into how food entrepreneur Kimbal Musk plans to disrupt casual dining, and a conversation with Chef Dominique Crenn about how she’s advocating for a new food philosophy with her portfolio of San Francisco concepts.
