Zeeks Pizza, Seattle’s favorite neighborhood pizza joint, will celebrate its 10th and newest restaurant with a dedication ceremony followed by a grand opening pizza party to benefit The Moyer Foundation on Wednesday, September 21, 2011.  The new store, located at 16015 Cleveland St. in Redmond, Washington, opens for business Tuesday, September 13.

The celebration will include remarks and a ribbon cutting by Redmond Mayor John Marchione at4 p.m., followed by a grand opening pizza party, at which attendees will have the opportunity to feast on unlimited slices of the restaurant’s newest pies: White Album, Yeti, Weekend Hippie, Buffalo Soldier, and Quentin Florentino.

Guests will also receive two pints of Blue Moon ale or a non-alcoholic beverage of choice, unlimited salad, and a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes including autographed Moyer memorabilia, tickets to the Woodland Park Zoo, and free pizza from Zeeks Pizza. Proceeds from the party will benefit The Moyer Foundation, a Seattle-based non-profit that helps children in distress by providing and supporting educational programs.

“We’re all about being part of the neighborhood and serving great pizza,” says Doug McClure, co-founder of Zeeks Pizza. “It’s exciting to kick off our newest restaurant in a way that benefits a great local foundation.”

The grand opening pizza party is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and tickets may be purchased at the door for $10 per person. Ticket purchase includes unlimited slices of pizza, two drink tickets redeemable for a pint of Blue Moon ale or non-alcoholic beverage of choice, and one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets are available for $1.

Former Seattle Mariners’ pitcher Jamie Moyer and his wife Karen established the Moyer Foundation in 2000. The Foundation’s mission is to empower children in distress and with the community’s support, the Foundation has created and funds programs to give children the tools and skills to overcome life’s greatest challenges. In addition to supporting grassroots organizations, The Moyer Foundation created and funds Camp Erin, the largest, free bereavement camp in the country for grieving children and teens, and Camp Mariposa, a free camp for children living with addiction/substance abuse in their families.
