50 Eggs Inc. CEO John Kunkel is proud to announce Clay Miller as the new Executive Chef of Yardbird Southern Table & Bar in Miami Beach. The restaurant, which opened in October 2011, has received critical acclaim, including being named as one of Bon Appetit’s “50 Best New Restaurants 2012,” and was a semi-finalist for the James Beard Foundation Award’s “Best New Restaurant 2012” category.

“We’re thrilled to have Chef Clay Miller on board,” says John Kunkel, CEO and founder.  “Clay is a rare culinary talent, and as Yardbird enters its third year of business, he is precisely the type of chef that will take our success to the next level.”

Miller, who was named one of Food & Wine’s “Best News Chefs of 2010,” is a Pittsburgh native with over 18-years of culinary experience. His career has included stints working for renowned chefs, including chef and restaurateur Daniel Boulud at Daniel, chef Floyd Cardoz at Tabla, and chef Thomas Keller at The French Laundry. While serving as executive chef and partner at Trummer’s on Main in Clifton, VA, Miller earned a Rising Star Chef award from StarChefs.com and a semi-finalist nomination for “Best New Restaurant 2010” from the James Beard Foundation. Most recently, Miller held the executive chef position Wit & Wisdom, a Tavern by Michael Mina, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland.

Miller replaces chef Jeff McInnis, who is leaving Yardbird for personal reasons. “We’re a close-knit family here at Yardbird, so it’s always sad to say goodbye. We respect Chef McInnis’s privacy, and thank him for his hard work over the last three years."

Yardbird Southern Table & Bar will continue to serve the classic Southern cuisine that the restaurant is known for, with new menu items to be introduced in late August.
