World of Beer Launches Innovative Rewards Program

World of Beer, a neighborhood gathering spot for beerlovers with 75 locations across 23 states, has launched an innovative new loyalty program. WOB wants to reward patrons for exploring brews from their 500-plus selection and make it easier than ever to discover new favorites.

World of Beer recently teamed with Paytronix, a leading consumer rewards program provider specializing in hospitality, to revamp their loyalty program and overall mobile app experience. Paytronix is behind the recent mobile marketing successes of companies like Pinkberry, Taco Mac and Tavern in the Square, all of who saw their rewards membership skyrocket within a year of program launch.

After conducting consumer research, World of Beer concluded their old loyalty program did not appeal to the unique preferences of a diverse clientele. In the past, WOB loyalty members were recognized based only on unique beers tried, limiting participants from reaching reward milestones.

Instead, the new program will provide rewards for every dollar spent on any beer, spirit, wine or food item, and utilize the mobile app data to better customize individual rewards. Among the many new features is WOB’s ALEgorithm, a community-driven beer discovery engine.

The ALEgorithm provides tailored beer recommendations based on personal taste and member engagement. Members are encouraged to try and rate beers at WOB, which will tailor their beer recommendations on the app.

Think of it like Pandora for beer-lovers. “World of Beer is always looking for new ways to connect with the beer-drinking community. One of the most unique features of WOB Rewards is the ALEgorithm,” says Hannah Davis, Senior Director of Brand Marketing. “The ALEgorithm seamlessly provides customized recommendations based on each user’s preferences. The new WOB Rewards program, including the ALEgorithm, will thrive with community engagement. For each beer drinker who downloads the app and rates beers, the ALEgorithm will get smarter and recommendations will become more precise. Each user will help enhance the ALEgorithm for all members.”

WOB rewards patrons while they eat, drink and explore new menu items. Program incentives include a 75 token bonus for new member signup, $10 off for an existing member re-registration and $5 off after completing the ALEgorithm survey. The program also offers periodic “challenges” to eligible members including token boosts, beer trips and beer-related swag. The WOB loyalty program is completely free and accepted at all domestic locations.
