As the celebration of its 40th anniversary continues, Woody’s Bar-B-Q seeks to pay tribute to local police officers and fire fighters with a “God Bless the Blue” Day at its two corporate locations on Monday, November 2. From open to close at The ORIGINAL Woody’s Bar-B-Q in Jacksonville and Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Ponte Vedra Beach, uniformed police officers and fire fighters will receive a free meal from the classic southern BBQ chain’s standard menu as thanks for their service.
“After 40 years in Jacksonville – with several more franchise locations throughout Florida – we’ve had to call upon our local firefighters and police officers for assistance on more than one occasion,” says Yolanda Mills-Mawman, president and Co-founder of Woody’s Bar-B-Q. “Not to mention the fact that a fair percentage of our customer base is made up by these brave first responders. My co-founder Woody and I would like to say thank you in the best way we know how – through the delivery of a great meal. We are so grateful for their commitment to keeping our communities safe. Woody’s Bar-B-Q has always backed the blue – our two corporate locations extend a special discount to uniformed police officers every day – 50% off dine-in orders and 20% off take-out orders. We’re hoping to see a sea of blue in both dining rooms on Monday, November 2 when their meal is on us.”
From open to close on Monday, November 2, uniformed police officers and fire fighters can visit one of the two locations below to receive their FREE MEAL to enjoy via dine-in. For those who wish to enjoy their meal via take-out, the two locations will honor a 25% discount:

In addition to free MEALS for uniformed officers and fire fighters, Woody’s Bar-B-Q will be selling “God Bless the Blue” t-shirts for $14.99 each. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jacksonville Fraternal Order of Police Foundation and Jacksonville’s Local 122 Florida Fire Fighters for their Muscular Dystrophy “Fill the Boot” Donor Drive. Prior to the “God Bless the Blue” event, Woody’s Bar-B-Q has made community outreach a large part of its 40th anniversary celebration. Earlier this year, the company delivered 100 sandwich meals to UF Health to feed frontline healthcare workers during the onset of COVID-19 and earlier this month, Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Ponte Vedra Beach hosted an event to benefit the Tim Tebow Foundation – raising $6,000 for its Anti-Human Trafficking Ministry.
