Still smokin’ after 40 years, Woody’s Bar-B-Q announced that it looks forward to celebrating this milestone with patrons next month. On Saturday, October 3, the classic Southern BBQ chain will play host to a 40th Anniversary Celebration at its Corporate Training location at Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Ponte Vedra Beach. The event will include Woody’s regular brand of food and fun, along with an art show featuring Florida artist, Diana Patterson, as well as a silent auction and live music. Proceeds from the auction and a portion of the receipts from the day’s sales at the restaurant will benefit the Tim Tebow Foundation and its efforts to fight Human Trafficking.
“As grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren, the concept of human trafficking is very frightening to me,” says Yolanda Mills-Mawman, president, COO and Co-Founder of Woody’s Bar-B-Q. “My co-founder, Woody Mills and I are impressed by what the Tim Tebow Foundation’s Anti-Human Trafficking Ministry is doing out in the world to not only eradicate this horrible crime against humanity, but to also bring awareness to the issue. As part of our ongoing 40th Anniversary Celebration, we are honored to team up with TTF. We can think of no better way to commemorate 40 wonderful years as a Florida-based franchise than by showing our support for the community that has supported us so well over the last four decades. While it may look a little different from celebrations of the past as we take special measures to practice social distancing, it still promises to be a good time for all in attendance.”
The 40th Anniversary Celebration will take place at Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Ponte Vedra Beach – located at 226 Solana Road – from 2-4 p.m. The celebration will continue after the event, as a portion of the proceeds from all dine-in and take-out orders that day will benefit the Tim Tebow Foundation. St. Augustine-based artist, Diana Patterson, whose art will be on display and available for purchase throughout the event, has also pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her works.
According to the Tim Tebow Foundation’s Anti-Human Trafficking Ministry brief, it is estimated that as many as 40 million people in the world today are being bought and sold as modern-day slaves. Women, children, and even men are being captured, exploited, and abused on a daily basis in every country around the world. TTF believes in taking action
to confront this global atrocity – to rescue victims and provide a way out of a life of violence and exploitation to a new life of freedom found in Christ. During the Woody’s Bar-B-Q event, Tim Tebow Foundation President, Steve Biondo will speak to those in attendance.
