Women’s Foodservice Forum (WFF), in partnership with Sysco, is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for a new scholarship: the WFF Sewell Scholars Award.

The scholarship honors the legacy of Phyllis Shapiro Sewell, a former Sysco board member and champion of women’s rights in the workplace.

The scholarship recipient will receive a $15,000 grant that allows her to attend WFF’s Annual Leadership Development Conference and Executive Summit, in addition to the Kellogg School of Management campus sessions.

“Phyllis Shapiro Sewell accomplished much in her career and makes an outstanding example of what emerging leaders can achieve,” says Sysco President and CEO Bill DeLaney. “The WFF Sewell Scholar Award provides an outstanding curriculum that will have a profound impact on the recipient’s career.”

Aspiring female leaders from all disciplines within the foodservice industry who are enthusiastic about further developing their business and leadership skills are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be able to commit to attending the programming for two years and completing the certification.

“We must never stop building our skills and abilities,” says WFF President and CEO Fritzi Woods.“We are so pleased to be able to offer the WFF Sewell Scholars Award, and know it will provide a challenging and fulfilling curriculum for a very deserving individual.”
