Waldorf Astoria Park City Names Ryan Burnham Executive Chef

Waldorf Astoria Park City, Utah’s premier luxury resort by Hilton, located in one of the world’s most coveted mountain regions announced the appointment of Ryan Burnham as executive chef. Burnham joined the team in early February and brings more than 25 years of culinary experience, from executive chef positions to hotel leadership roles at some of the country’s best fine dining restaurants, to the resort. His dynamic perspective, passion for the Park City community and affinity for elevated global flavors made Burnham a natural fit for this position. In his new role, Burnham will lead all aspects of the food and beverage operation, including Waldorf Astoria Park City’s in-house restaurant, Powder, in-room dining, catering and banquets, and the resort’s poolside culinary programming.

No stranger to the Greater Park City region, Chef Burnham joins Waldorf Astoria Park City from Sundance Mountain Resort, home of the renowned film festival, where he served as executive chef. Prior to his time at Sundance, he was part of the Goldener Hirsch Inn & Residences team, where he held the position of executive chef for nine years, led his team to achieve high honors from Utah’s “Best of State” awards committee and was personally recognized by the James Beard Association for a “Chefs of Deer Valley” dinner event he developed and executed. Chef Burnham has also held several leadership positions around the country, including executive chef roles at fine dining restaurants such as Pago in Salt Lake City, Park City’s Wahso Asian Grill and Grappa by James Beard honoree Bill White, Gotham Steak at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, from Michelin-Starred Chef Alfred Portale of Gotham New York fame, La Campagne in the Greater Philadelphia area, and Asia De Cuba in San Francisco. He also was the chef de partie of Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ryan Burnham to Waldorf Astoria Park City,” says Cindy Racco, general manager, Waldorf Astoria Park City. “Chef Burnham is a veteran in the culinary field and exudes passion, precision and forethought. His creativity, attention to detail, knowledge of the region, and impressive history working with a wide range of culinary cultures and techniques will help shape our resort as a paramount dining experience for our discerning guests and the local community.”

A Vienna, Virginia native who has lived in the Park City area for over 15 years, Burnham first earned his civil engineering degree at the University of Utah, before entering the California Culinary Academy where he did his training. In his free time, he loves spending time with his wife and four kids and skiing and snowboarding on Park City’s slopes.
