Dash Software, a mobile payment platform, announced the debut of Venue Vibes, a feature that remotely indicates the atmosphere of participating restaurants, bars, and clubs using real-time data.

The app, which gained popularity this year among Millennials, is best known for allowing users to view, pay, and split tabs from their smartphones.

Dash is now the first mobile app capable of revealing the vibe of approximately 50 venues in New York City and 30 venues in Chicago—with the indicators "lively," "active," "relaxed," and "quiet"—before patrons even step foot inside.

"We founded Dash on the principle that few things feel better than paying your restaurant or bar tab on-the-go," says CEO and co-founder Jeff McGregor. "It turns out knowing how crowded a venue is before you show up feels pretty good too.”

Venue Vibes provides an accurate gauge of restaurant and bar atmosphere that changes with the ebb and flow of guest volume. By leveraging its patented, proprietary integration technology, Dash continuously tracks how many tabs are open in their venues' POS (point of sales) systems against the venue's capacity, making real-time data on a venue's "mood" available to the public for the first time.

Whether guests are seeking a quiet restaurant to host a business meeting or a rowdy happy hour to kick off the weekend, Dash users can use Venue Vibes to select the ideal location for their needs.
