The first Make Your Meals Matter event from Greener Fields Together will be taking place in Atlanta on July 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Venkman’s in the Old Fourth Ward.

Venkman’s and Greener Fields Together will be collaborating to hold the Make Your Meals Matter (MYMM) brunch that aims to highlight and celebrate local and seasonal products by offering specific appetizers and entrees prepared solely with local ingredients.

Venkman’s became a Greener Fields Together hospitality partner in February 2016 due to their dedication to sourcing the freshest produce from local farmers. Their menu boasts a variety of playful spins on comfort dishes such as the Venk-Griddle and the Big Ass Sticky Bun, while staying true to their Southern roots with Cast Iron Fried Chicken.

Venkman’s works with Royal Food Service to coordinate their menu based on what is seasonally and locally available. Royal Food Service, a Greener Fields Together local purveyor, supports their local farms by ensuring the highest standard of food safety, donating to a grant program that funds local farm improvements, and expanding the markets that farmers can reach, allowing farmers to focus on what they do best: farm.

Greener Fields Together, the group organizing the Make Your Meals Matter event, works throughout the produce supply chain to ensure safe, local, and sustainable produce is making its way to consumer plates.
