Unified Brands, a leading manufacturer of foodservice equipment, gave onlookers and industry insiders a fresh new way to experience its innovative lines of commercial kitchen equipment at the 2018 National Restaurant Association Show held at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The groundbreaking use of augmented reality attracted attendees to Unified Brands’ booth throughout the show. By adding digital animation and computer-generated visuals to a person’s physical environment via a smartphone or tablet, this technology allows manufacturers to showcase their products—and consumers to view them—like never before.

After logging into the Unified Brands App, visitors were able to browse through Unified Brands’ product lines and display high-resolution, three-dimensional images of a continuous motion ware washing machine, braising pan, prep table and other kitchen equipment. Users could then inspect every angle and feature of the equipment in 360-mode or select a “play animation” feature to observe and interact with the equipment.

“We are excited to be able to debut this augmented reality technology at this year’s trade show,” says Dave Herring, president of Unified Brands. “We had a feeling that this would really give us a leg up in terms of providing a first-class customer experience where you can truly interact with and view our equipment up-close in a way you couldn’t before.”

Following the success of this pioneering first launch into augmented reality, Unified Brands plans to make ongoing updates to its new App, offering even more long-term value for professionals in the commercial foodservice industry.

“In many ways, this advancement characterizes our ‘Meals Re-Imagined,’ approach to continually push the boundaries of conventional food preparation,” Herring adds. “It is also indicative of how hard we work as a company to provide smart, differentiated solutions that result in better meals, an elevated consumer experience and an exponential return on investment.”

To view Unified Brands’ product display and participate in the augmented reality experience, download the free app by searching “Unified Brands” on Google Play or the Apple Store.
