Roka, Rainer Becker’s contemporary Japanese robatayaki restaurants, will open two new London locations in 2014.  Roka Mayfair will open in February followed by Roka Aldwych in the summer.

Rainer Becker spent the better part of a decade in Japan and his journey resulted in an international restaurant group with both Zuma and Roka restaurants.  Established in 2004, the founding Roka and Shochu Lounge on Charlotte Street embody welcoming, informal hospitality and next year will celebrate their 10th anniversary with this double opening.  Epitomizing the very essence of all that is Roka, the Mayfair location will open on North Audley Street and will be a relaxed yet elegant dining destination.  Roka Aldwych will deliver a new dynamic altogether with unique design elements in both the restaurant and bar.

The heart of Roka is the charcoal robata grill; it is the hub of the restaurant and the source of its vibrant, warm energy. Group executive chef, Hamish Brown, has designed a contemporary Japanese menu that offers a variety of iconic Roka dishes alongside new creations specific to each location, all using the very best seasonal produce.  With dishes intended for sharing, the menus will showcase a selection of expertly crafted sushi and sashimi to compliment the food from the robata grill.

Roka Mayfair and Roka Aldwych will join Roka Charlotte Street, Roka Canary Wharf, and Roka Hong Kong.
