Truluck's Plans 2nd Chicago-Area Location

Truluck’s Seafood, Steak, and Crab House, known for its signature Florida Stone Crab and two-and-a-half-decade legacy of attentive Southern hospitality, will open its second Chicago-area location on Monday, October 8, in Rosemont’s burgeoning Pearl District. A notably refined dining experience centered on fresh-caught seafood and crab, prime steaks and an exquisite wine selection with impeccable service and live entertainment nightly in the Stone Crab Lounge, Truluck’s emerged on the Chicago culinary scene almost exactly a year ago. Its original Gold Coast location was quickly recognized as a “New Favorite” by DiningOut Chicago, selected to Chicago Magazine’s Top Best New Restaurants list, and named among the country’s Ten Best New Restaurants by USAToday.

Truluck’s Rosemont, located in the new Pearl District, south of Balmoral Avenue and west of the Tri-State Tollway, is a magnificent, two-story, 12,000-square-foot edifice that sets the stage for timeless elegance from the moment guests walk in the door. Beyond the black and white polished granite-tiled entryway, sweeping, brocade-carpeted stairway and breathtaking, eight-foot-tall chandelier, the vibrant sounds of nightly live entertainment emanate from the lounge, with its centerpiece, lit-from-within onyx bar. The dining room, accessed through a glass showcase wine cellar, seats 160 but creates a feeling of intimacy with plush leather booths, luxurious mahogany millwork, romantic lighting and floor-to-ceiling curtained windows.

Known for the unsurpassed quality of its always-fresh Florida Stone Crab, Truluck’s operates its own stone crab fisheries near the Florida Keys, allowing the restaurant to bring fresh Florida Stone Crab to guests, direct from traps to table within 24 hours. Every Monday night during stone crab season (Oct. 15 through May 15), crab devotees can devour unlimited Florida Stone Crab for one low price at Truluck’s.

Truluck’s passion for seafood is not limited to its signature Florida Stone Crab. The fresh-catch seafood menu features a tempting selection of the freshest fish and seafood available in dishes such as Miso-Glazed Sea Bass served with crab fried rice and chilled cucumber slaw, Holland White Dover Sole topped with blistered heirloom cherry tomatoes and shaved garlic, Hawaiian Ahi Tuna, Alaskan King Crab, and South African Lobster Tails, just to name a sumptuous few.

For the steak lover, Truluck’s serves only 100 percent antibiotic- and hormone-free Prime cuts cooked to perfection, many topped with seafood delicacies including crab, shrimp, even caviar. A decadent array of house-made desserts tops off the tantalizing menu.

Truluck’s wine list, recognized by Wine Spectator Magazine’s Award of Excellence, enables guests to be adventurous, with more than 70 coveted varietals available by the glass. Truluck’s mixologists hand craft libations with expert care, using only premium spirits mixed with fresh fruit and hand-squeezed citrus juices, and pour all sodas and mixers from bottles.

Nightly entertainment in The Stone Crab Lounge showcases talented musicians and vocalists who perform live renditions of classic and contemporary favorites. Each weekday afternoon between 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Truluck’s Lounge features Social Hour, where half-price hand-crafted cocktails create the perfect end-of-day toast. Specially priced Chef’s selections available during Social Hour include the tuna tartare tower, Oysters Rockefeller, salt and pepper calamari, shrimp primavera flatbread and more.

Truluck’s private dining rooms offer several customizable options for hosting an unforgettable corporate event, cocktail party, business luncheon, rehearsal dinner, or other special event.
