Tratto, the new modern trattoria within The Marker, a Joie de Vivre Hotel located in San Francisco’s Theater District, is now serving a delicious lunch menu featuring contemporary Italian comfort food from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, featuring new items, such as Soup del Giorno ($8), Fried Chicken with Crispy Prosciutto Panini ($14), Orechiette with Meat Sauce ($16), artisan pizza starting at $13, and more. Tratto is excited to cater to the afternoon on-the-go crowd with its enticing lunch menu in addition to its existing breakfast, brunch, happy hour, and dinner menus.
“This is a very vibrant neighborhood filled with all walks of life—tourists, theatre artists, professionals, and more,” said Tratto’s general manager Justin Knoth. “We are excited to meet the needs of our community by offering quick bites at the bar for those with busy schedules or a more leisurely lunch for people that might be from out of town and have an afternoon to sit awhile and relax.”
Tratto is a spirited, bar-driven restaurant serving rustic Italian fare and Italian-inspired cocktails. Its ambiance is casual and friendly, and its name is inspired by the Italian happy hour tradition of "aperitivo," or happy hour. In keeping with Italian tradition, executive chef David Feldman, takes a page out of his grandmother’s culinary playbook, by seeking out the freshest and finest local artisan-produced ingredients to inspire and influence his dishes, which include house-made pastas, sausages, and thin pizzas. The full bar features traditional Italian-inspired cocktails with a twist, featuring house-made Italian Sodas, limoncellos and orangecellos, and beer and wine sourced from the best of the West Coast and Italy.
Managed and designed by Puccini Group, the bright and airy interior is inspired by European décor and reflective of the vibrant neighborhood surrounding it. Art plays a key role in the design theme with Tratto’s inaugural local artist-in-residence, Amos Goldbaum, who crafted a number of large landscape murals for Tratto’s main dining room, inspired by iconic vistas, streets, and skylines of San Francisco. For the private dining room, Goldbaum created a panoramic mural that reflects the rituals and processes of food-making. Goldbaum’s artwork goes beyond the wall art and is incorporated into the menu and uniforms. Classic black and white films are also displayed in the bar area, paying tribute to the neighborhood’s rich theater culture and sparking conversation among patrons.
Tratto offers breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 10: 30 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., happy hour from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the restaurant is open for brunch from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
