Chef Troy Guard (TAG Restaurant Group Owner and Executive Chef) welcomes the legendary culinary talents of Celebrity Chef Andrew Zimmern, famous as a restaurateur, television, radio personality, and food critic and notably known for appearances on The Food Network and Travel Channel, for a collaborative guest chef dinner on November 7, 2023 at Guard and Grace and the next chef to contribute a taco for Los Chingones’s Celebrity Chef Taco Series.
Proceeds from both collabs will go toward Kokua Restaurant and Hospitality Fund benefiting the hardworking restaurant, bar and hospitality workers displaced by the devastating wildfires that have impacted West Maui communities from Lahaina to Kapalua–Troy Guard’s hometown. Full details are below.

It’s especially impactful, in light of the recent fires in Maui, to be raising money for our community there.”
Zimmern says, “We are really excited to cook dinner this November with Chef Guard and his team. I can promise all the diners that evening a fun time, a great meal, and some thought provoking conversation. I can't wait to get out to Denver!”
Two Events - One Cause
Chef Guard and Chef Zimmern’s collaborative Guest Chef Dinner will premier at Denver’s modern steakhouse Guard and Grace. The two coordinated on an exclusive menu, only available on November 7, featuring unique and specialty ingredients that celebrate the unexpected and are ‘So Good It’s Bizarre!’
Leading up to the collaborative dinner event at Guard and Grace, Los Chingones Celebrity Chef Taco Series continues continues on September 15th through the end of the year with the assistance of Zimmern, and his immense culinary expertise.
Chef Zimmern presents his take on the Walking Taco, a portable flavor-packed fiesta, all in a bag of crunchy Fritos. Dive into a chef’s version of this beloved fair food filled with seasoned pork and bacon, velvety cheese, crisp lettuce, zesty tomatoes, onions, and topped with black olives, cilantro, cotija and a tangy crema.
In 2022, TAG Restaurant Group’s Guard, kicked off this exciting series to help the communities affected by the devastating Marshall Fires with a fundraising program benefiting Boulder Community Foundation. He wanted to open up the opportunity for other Chefs to get creative and raise funds for a charity near and dear to their hearts. $1 of every taco goes towards the quarterly chef’s charity of choice.
Said Zimmern, ““I am thrilled to have the opportunity to raise money for such a great cause by selling one of my favorite foods, loaded black bean chili Walking Tacos. This is a fun way to serve our communities.”
Both the collaborative dinner at Guard and Grace and the funds raised from Zimmern’s taco will benefit the Kokua Restaurant and Hospitality Fund, which provides while recovering from the devastating Maui Wildfires.

Coming off a spectacular sellout with friend and celebrity Chef Rocco DiSprito at Denver’s Guard and Grace this past June 2022 and the Feast from the East dinner event with The Fried Rice Collective, Guard is always looking for the next opportunity to bring exceptional talent to Denver and host dinner events to benefit the communities he calls home.
