Hospitality mavens Sarah Shepherd of Height House Hotel and Chef Liz Grandchamp of Grandchamp Hospitality introduce Raleigh’s newest pop-up dining experience – Supper Club – hosted monthly at Heights House Hotel. “It’s kind of like a restaurant, but more like a dinner party with new and old friends,” explains Shepherd, whose historic hotel – named a Travel & Leisure “Best New Hotel in the World” in 2022 – welcomes guests to stay overnight, visit for cocktails, and community-oriented events. In true dinner party form, Supper Club will channel the festive conviviality of bringing people together around the table for a shared and (somewhat) impromptu communal experience, adorned with the vintage china Sarah has collected and exquisite Italian glassware. Reservations for the first Supper Club, Monday, February 13th, will be live January 23rd, for seatings at 5:30 and 8pm – and will be live three weeks before each Supper Club. As an homage to Heights House’s Italianate architectural style, Chef Liz Grandchamp will lend her family recipes, talent and passion each month through an Italian inspired four-course menu, which can be paired with Italian wines curated by Wine Professional Halsey Merritt and Parlor cocktails by barman Will Bryant. “Through our friendship, Sarah and I discovered how much we absolutely love to host and bring the community together with great food and fantastic drinks. This Supper Club allows us the opportunity to share our style of hospitality and make it a unique, fun and exciting dining experience,” says Grandchamp, whose catering and consulting company has become a household name for Raleigh foodies. Supper Club marks the first time Raleigh diners will have a regular opportunity to indulge in her signature Italian influenced cuisine. Expect everything from crudos and handmade pastas to whole branzino and osso buco, with a focus on local purveyors and seasonality. The menu and theme will change monthly, and as with any supper club, will certainly include last minute edits and flourishes.

While dinner will be served in the Dining Room, guests are invited for aperitifs before and after dinner in the Parlor, and encouraged to explore the elegant setting and comfortable seating areas throughout the property’s four front common rooms – including the Drawing Room, and Library – which continue to be used as originally intended when the property was built in 1858.

“In restoring this landmark property, it has always been our goal to find creative ways to make this almost 200-year-old home accessible, not just to travelers, but to non-hotel guests and Raleigh locals alike,” explains Shepherd. In keeping with Heights House Hotels’ mission, Supper Club offers yet another opportunity for the Raleigh community to experience the beauty of this National Historic Landmark.
