Stripers Seafood Restaurant Coming to Waterside District in Fall

The Cordish Companies announced that a popular Manteo, North Carolina, restaurant is opening its second location at Waterside District in Norfolk, Virginia, this fall. Boasting fresh seafood, a made-from-scratch menu and waterfront views, Stripers Waterside will serve up its award-winning dining options to downtown Norfolk. Coming to Waterside District on the banks of the Elizabeth River, Stripers Waterside will offer a diverse lunch and dinner menu consisting of seafood, pasta, steak, sandwiches and more.

Stripers Waterside will also serve a Sunday brunch menu and house 30 beers on tap, giving Norfolk a new place to enjoy breakfast or after-work drinks by the water.

The restaurant’s original location, Stripers Bar & Grille in Manteo is a favorite among locals and visitors and known for its fresh-caught seafood, draft beer and panoramic water views. Spanning approximately 7,400 square feet, the new location at Waterside District will continue the Stripers tradition of using homemade ingredients, from sauces to desserts and more.

While great local seafood will remain a focal point, the restaurant will also offer a more expansive menu than its first location. Varied, quality options will fit every palate and budget, making Stripers Waterside an ideal restaurant to take the whole family for dinner.

Stripers Waterside will also offer on and off-site catering and a private dining room in the restaurant that will accommodate around 60 guests, making it ideal for rehearsal dinners, lunch meetings, and other events.

“We look forward to bringing in a waterfront restaurant with a welcoming, casual vibe that will fit perfectly with the rest of Waterside District,” says Glenn Sutch, president of Waterside District. “Stripers will be a place to go for any occasion—you can rent a private room or have a nice anniversary out, but it’s also a great space for a family dinner.”

Alfredo Landazuri, chef for Stripers Manteo, is developing the Stripers Waterside menu and is excited to build upon the original restaurant’s menu to give Norfolk a unique experience upon opening in the fall of 2017.

“We envision holding on to many of the concepts that make our Manteo location special, but taking it to the next level for this bigger Norfolk space,” says Landazuri. “We’ll continue to make our dishes from scratch, using fresh local seafood and products, and we’ll keep our most popular menu items while providing an even broader range of affordable, accessible options that everyone can enjoy.”
