Sterling Payment Technologies, a leading provider of payment processing, today announced it has partnered with Biztracker POS, a point of sale software company, to offer an EMV solution to users of Biztracker’s Infinity Retail Management System. The solution allows Biztracker users to accept transactions in a semi-integrated mode using Datacap NETePay™ and the EMV-enabled Verifone VX 805 terminal.

“Biztracker is a growing company serving small- to medium-sized retailers, and we’re glad that our partnership results in an EMV solution for their software that’s secure, reliable and easy to deploy,” says Rich Peterson, divisional president of integrated point of sale at Sterling Payment Technologies.

Due to the liability shift by the major card brands, merchants that do not use terminals that process EMV chip card transactions are now liable for chargebacks associated with payments made with counterfeit, lost or stolen payment cards. This burden can represent significant losses in time and money to businesses that do not use EMV-enabled point of sale systems.

“Our priority at Biztracker is to make sure our systems and software are as secure as possible,” says Jim Eldred, president of Biztracker. “Sterling’s EMV solution provides that extra assurance, is affordable, and requires minimal installation time.  It’s a great value.”
