In a new release, leading pizza point of sale provider SpeedLine Solutions Inc. introduces new tablet ordering and enhanced mobile reporting for fast, flexible service, and remote management.

“In the '90s, touchscreen point of sale terminals replaced clunky, feature-limited cash registers in restaurants around the world, “ says Jennifer Wiebe, SpeedLine marketing manager. “Today, while full-scale POS terminals still fit many restaurant applications, mobile technology is driving another evolution at the point of sale.”

SpeedLine 7 introduces support for new Windows tablets for order entry, providing options to reduce upfront hardware costs and serve guests more flexibly in the dining room, on the patio, or at busy front counter. Mount a tablet securely at the counter or on the wall; pick it up and take it to a table, out on the patio, or to the next person in line. Choose inexpensive consumer tablets for a lower startup cost, or industrial models for heavy, all-day use and secure payment processing.

The same mobile evolution is happening back of the house. “In the latest release of SpeedWeb, restaurant operators and area managers get live stats and reports on their smartphones—in a convenient, mobile-friendly format that lets them work on the business without having to be in it every minute of the day,” Wiebe adds.
