Sonos has joined with Mood Media to bring its popular wireless music experience to restaurants, retailers and other public spaces. Sonos fans that own businesses can now find Mood’s commercially licensed streaming music service, called Mood Mix, in the Sonos app.

Mood is now also carrying the Sonos line of products for its clients. Sonos products are renowned for their versatility and for their high music quality, which is an ideal fit for the customization and music selection of Mood Mix. Both companies see a growing market for modular and portable sound system solutions in the retail and restaurant sectors as well as smaller footprint businesses.

“There’s an unrealized market of business owners who, when given an affordable and convenient choice, will do the legal and right process for playing properly licensed music in their public spaces,” says David Van Epps, global chief product officer at Mood. “There is certainly a broad need for this type of service. Now integrated with Mood Mix, the ease of installation and superior sound quality of the Sonos wireless speaker technology is a terrific option for this under-served market.”

This new solution is equally ideal for short-term commercial events, such as holiday pop-up stores and kiosks, as well as permanent entertainment, hospitality event, or banquet venues that demand the flexibility of wireless and customizable audio systems.

Launched in 2014, Mood Mix is designed to give business owners a high level of control and choice with their music programming, allowing brands to easily customize their soundtracks by mixing musical genres, decades, artists, and albums.
