Commercial restaurant kitchens have a new tool in the ongoing fight to stay efficient and control operational overheads. Launched this week by St. Paul based Smart Care Equipment Solutions, the Smart Care Planned Maintenance Program includes a new smart service app, nationally customized protocols for all planned maintenance service appointments and an enhanced network of Smart Techs providing both local service and national support capabilities across the country.

“This is a major step forward towards really bringing commercial kitchen equipment service and maintenance into the 21st century,” says Bill Emory, chief executive officer, Smart Care Equipment Solutions. “Over the past six months we’ve expanded our national network of technicians putting more highly trained people into both our customer and growth markets. Now we’re turning our attention to equipping those Smart Techs with what we believe is some of the most innovative and forward-thinking technology in our industry.”

A core component of the new Smart Care Planned Maintenance Program is a proprietary new iPad app now put into the hands of every Smart Tech in the Smart Care service network. Technicians walk restaurant owners, managers or chefs through a customized checklist tailored to commercial equipment in their kitchens, monitoring and identifying maintenance status, identifying issues and making upcoming recommendations. Following every appointment, the app generates a detailed and custom email report for every customer providing easy-to-understand upcoming maintenance recommendations.

“This is about ensuring every Smart Care customer, no matter the size or set up of their commercial kitchen is receiving the same industry-leading, in-depth and technology-led service every time one our Smart Techs sets foot in their kitchens,” adds Emory.

Phase two of the Smart Care Planned Maintenance Program will include aggregation of metadata from hundreds of thousands of maintenance appointments to help Smart Care identify trends relating to particular types of equipment, brands or common usage issues. By doing so, Smart Care customers will be able to stay ahead of service, repair and replacement needs, controlling operational costs and guaranteeing the reliability of their kitchen equipment.

The Smart Care Planned Maintenance Program is a phased launch, beginning by the end of July, 2018 with anticipated comprehensive national coverage by August 31, 2018.
