On November 1st, Sarabeth Levine will open her restaurant, Sarabeth’s, in Tokyo, Japan. Sarabeth’s Shinjuku will be the first international location for the brand, which consists of nine restaurants, a 15,000 square-foot jam factory, a state-of-the-art bakery café, a best-selling cookbook, retail products, and a popular mail-order business.

Known as the “Breakfast Queen of New York” (New York Magazine), Sarabeth has earned a warm spot in the hearts of New Yorkers, out-of-town visitors, and tourists worldwide. Serving more than one million people per year, she also has an award-winning product line including her Legendary Spreadable Fruit Preserves, which are sold internationally.

Japan has been one of the brand’s strongest retail markets, and Sarabeth’s Shinjuku is poised to bring even greater exposure for the company when it opens next to the Shinegawa RR Station, one of the busiest railroad stations in the world, accommodating approximately 4.5 million travelers per day. The new location at Shinjuku Lumine 2 Building will include design elements from Sarabeth’s restaurants and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, in addition to offering take-out.

“I’m thrilled to open my first international location and bring my delicious, fresh-baked goods and home-style meals to Tokyo,” Levine said. “For many years our Japanese visitors have urged us to open a restaurant in their homeland, so it is a natural expansion for us.”
