Ruby Tuesday Provides Over 1.5 Million Meals to Children in Need

Ruby Tuesday, Inc. announced it will be teaming up with No Kid Hungry, a national organization working to end childhood hunger, to host an Orange Carpet Event on Saturday, September 15 at the Ruby Tuesday restaurant located at 3010 Panola Rd., Lithonia, Georgia.

Ruby Tuesday welcomes its guests to join them and No Kid Hungry from 12pm to 2pm local time for a special event to celebrate the remarkable donations raised as a result of the organizations’ joint annual Lemonade Day efforts. The event will feature food plus $1 lemonades as part of the company’s Lemonade Day promotion. All proceeds from lemonade sales will be donated to No Kid Hungry. Additionally, the event will include a DJ, face painting, caricature drawings, giveaways and special visits from the local Lithonia Police & Fire Departments.

“At Ruby Tuesday, we are passionate about feeding our guests, our communities and beyond, and we are humbled to be a part of this rewarding mission to end childhood hunger,” says CEO Ray Blanchette. “We are very proud of the outcome of this year’s annual Lemonade Day promotion as we raised more than $150,000 and look forward to keeping this incredible tradition alive for years to come.”

As a result of the company’s fundraising efforts in August, more than 1.5 million meals will be provided to children in need. Every dollar donated to No Kid Hungry can help feed a child 10 meals. Its sustainable solution to hunger connects kids to existing nutrition programs like the national school breakfast program and the summer meals program. Ruby Tuesday will resume its fundraising efforts in support of No Kid Hungry beginning in October 2018 and continuing through the holiday timeframe.
