Rooftop Bar Brass Eye to Open in Downtown Columbus, Ohio

Rockbridge and Makeready announce the grand opening of Brass Eye, the highly anticipated rooftop bar at The Junto, positioning the bar as the perfect place to unwind and be inspired by a founding father who knew how to have fun and not be too serious.

Located a ‘little west’ of downtown Columbus, Brass Eye is inspired by Benjamin Franklin and his Drinker’s Dictionary. The drink selection focuses on a wide variety of cocktails, wines and beers, and the menu offers creative flavor combinations and high-quality ingredients with an emphasis on shareable items easily paired with premium drinks. Guests are encouraged to unwind, connect, and indulge in the pleasures of life, while remaining true to the spirit of intellectual curiosity. The Drinker's Dictionary sets the tone where laughter and panoramic downtown views encourage lightheartedness and camaraderie.

"We are proud to introduce a new dynamic rooftop bar experience to the Columbus community,” says Makeready President and COO Christine Magrann. “Our unwavering commitment to providing a unique and unforgettable experience for our guests is reflected in the curation of our offerings. We are looking forward to Brass Eye establishing itself as a premier destination for both Columbus residents and visitors.”

The drink menu is carefully crafted with a playful, social point of view, presenting guests with interesting and unusual ingredients that are perfectly balanced to play with the taste buds. With every sip, there is a journey of flavors and textures that will leave you wanting one more. With passion and dedication, the team has created an exceptional beverage menu that draws inspiration from some of Makeready’s best-selling cocktails in other markets, including Denver, Charleston and Savannah.

With signature cocktails on draft, Brass Eye promises to be the ultimate destination for those in search of well-crafted spirits, honest food and unforgettable good times. The menu highlights include the Not Yo Pina Colada with rum two ways and tropical vibes or the Tear it Down, Again with Lunazul Blanco, passion, coconut water, lime, agave and a TAJIN edge. The menus are layered with thoughtfully weaved in products from like-minded local partners.

Upon arrival, guests are immediately met with the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces that elevate the ambiance and represent an intentional blend of classic, timeless and comfortable design.

The well-conceived design of large garage doors and floor-to-ceiling windows ensures that the elements are in harmony, providing a sought-after blend of covered patio and indoor options that cater to guests' diverse preferences and needs for a comfortable and versatile social experience. Additional intrigue and convenience is provided by the private elevator entrance on Rush Alley, further enhancing exclusive access to Brass Eye.

Notably, guests can experience the unique Cold Toast frozen cocktail at the walk-up window. This exclusive creation is made from Serena, an Italian dessert wine, which is unparalleled in taste, offering sparkling notes of strawberries and raspberries. This wine epitomizes exclusivity as it is unattainable anywhere else in the city.

Nestled within Brass Eye is a semi-private space known as "The Living Room" built for private social events, where guests are greeted by inviting soft seating and private garage doors with unobstructed views of downtown. Encased in large windows and glass garage doors, this is perfect for events where conversations flow effortlessly, laughter resonates and memorable moments unfold.

Situated in Brass Eye's back area is a captivating space that immerses you in the spirit of Franklinton. Guests are greeted by stunning views, allowing them to get lost in the energy of the neighborhood. Centering the space is an oversized brick fireplace where seating is designed for lounging and comfort, providing ample space for friends to unwind and enjoy the inviting atmosphere. It’s the ultimate spot for an outdoor evening with friends and loved ones.

Brass Eye will introduce their Brassy Eyed Brunch shortly, a weekend exclusive with live music and a tower full of the chef’s signature biscuits, house made jams and local butter.

For Red, White & BOOM!, Brass Eye is offering a ticketed viewing party with a direct view of the fireworks. The celebration, which is from 6-10 p.m., includes live music and a full bar selection. General admission tickets are $45 and include admission to Brass Eye, fireworks viewing and an entry welcome cocktail. More information and tickets can be found on the website.
