"As consumers shift to white wines for spring, Chardonnay sales continue to grow and are outselling the top red varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon, by 4.1 share points in May 2013."
The top varietals for May include Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Grigio with volume market shares of 11.1 percent, 7 percent, and 5.8 percent respectively.
