Red Gold Unveils New Folds of Honor Portion Control Products

An official with the Folds of Honor organization that supports families of fallen heroes joined Red Gold executives to announce the launch of a new Folds of Honor product that will provide proceeds the non-profit.

The new one-ounce cup and the redesigned Folds of Honor 9 gram packet are needed as operators purchase more portion control condiments for dine-in, take-out, delivery, drive-thru, and catering due to the pandemic. The distinctive label design also communicates participating operator’s support of the popular Folds of Honor movement—and the more than 18 million U.S. veterans in the United States—to their customers.

Ben Leslie, Executive Vice-President of Folds of Honor says Red Gold’s support will help provide important scholarships to deserving families of fallen heroes. “I know the family ownership of Red Gold and their employees are strong supporters of the men and women of our military and their families. This Indiana company has already made an investment in our cause by selling Folds of Honor Ketchup bottles to consumers in supermarkets and to foodservice operators nationwide. Red Gold’s nimble response of adding the new ketchup cup to their line of Folds of Honor Ketchup proves their desire to provide scholarships for the families that we serve. Now, consumers will be taking those Folds of Honor cups home when they order take-out or have their food delivered.”

“When the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, and restaurant dining rooms were ordered closed, Red Gold went to work on new portion control products because we foresaw the need,” says David Halt, Red Gold’s Vice-President of Foodservice Sales. “We wanted to have proceeds of the new one-ounce Ketchup cup provide needed support for Folds of Honor because it's a worthy cause that is close to the hearts of every Red Gold employee. We also wanted to provide important awareness for the Folds of Honor Foundation so Foodservice Operators and their Customers can show their own support.”

The Folds of Honor organization began in 2007 as a vision of Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney. The mission is to support military families by providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen, and disabled, service members. Since its founding, Folds of Honor has provided more than 24,500 scholarships. The organization has a cumulative average ratio of 89% of every dollar raised going to the scholarship program.

The Folds of Honor one-ounce ketchup cup will be available for purchase by foodservice operators in the coming months, at the peak of summertime restaurant dining and sporting events. Operators can order a free sample of the cup and plastic squeeze bottles by going to https://redgoldfoods.com/foodservice/folds-of-honor.
