Rational North America, a leading manufacturer of combi technology, has announced its full-year 2017 results after a year of record growth and product launches. The company continued its successful performance, generating a 26 percent increase in year over year growth and capturing 45 percent market share within the combi oven category. In addition, the Rational North America Distribution Center shipped a record-breaking 7,000 units, bringing the North American total install base to over 50,000 active Rational combi-steamers.
“Year after year, Rational North America continues to flourish because we invest heavily in our organization and product innovation. In 2017, we hired 40 new employees and plan to add an additional 22 people to our team this year across all functional areas. The expansion of our team has allowed us to reach and educate over 30,000 people about combi technology in 2017 alone,” says Markus Glueck, executive vice president of Rational North America.
Rational plans to continue its upward trajectory to secure its position as the market leader for the coming years. “We expect to ship over 10,000 combi-steamers within North America in 2018. This organic growth can only be achieved through expansion and product innovations that provide maximum customer benefit for commercial kitchens,” adds Glueck.
The company’s success is also attributed to offering an unparalleled after sales package to customers. This includes free services, such as a ChefLine where foodservice professionals can obtain application support 365 days a year, application training, and a customized training app for the North America market, that are available throughout the product life.
