The award-winning fun family casual-dining franchise Quaker Steak & Lube, known for its award winning food, including Best Wings USA and more than 20 sauces, announced today that it is seeking franchisees at the annual Multi-Unit Franchising Conference this month. The conference will be held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from April 23—26.

Operated by TA Restaurant Group, a division of Fortune 500 company TravelCenters of America, Quaker Steak & Lube has supercharged its franchise development efforts and is seeking entrepreneurs interested in opening multiple restaurants across the country. Plans for the popular restaurant chain include aggressive growth nationwide.

Additionally, John Ponczoch, senior vice president of TravelCenters of America and head of TA Restaurant Group, will be honored with the Multi-Brand Growth Award during the conference’s 2017 Most Valuable Performer (MVP) Awards ceremony.

“Over the last 43 years, Quaker Steak & Lube has developed a passionate following from consumers nationwide and TA Restaurant Group has spent the last year refining operations and investing in what has made Quaker Steak & Lube a fan favorite for so long—our great food, beverages, and atmosphere,” Ponczoch says.  “Quaker Steak & Lube is a truly unique concept that has differentiated itself from competitors in the crowded food service industry and we’re committed to growing the brand nationally. We look forward to meeting with qualified and experienced franchise candidates looking to expand their portfolio and join a legacy brand with an invaluable support system in place.”

TA Restaurant group is one of the country’s largest multi-unit operators with a franchise network of over 600 units with nearly 40 different foodservice concepts. In 2016, TA Restaurant Group acquired Quaker Steak & Lube and has begun to strengthen the 43-year-old brand, which most recently has included the addition of a new executive chef and a new beverage program manager that are leading the launch of a new menu in all locations nationwide later this month. TA Restaurant Group is also evolving Quaker Steak & Lube’s restaurant design, while keeping the signature ambiance of suspended racecars from the ceilings and gas station memorabilia lining the walls. The brand will put a renewed focus on providing more flexible, non-traditional buildouts for franchisees to allow more aggressive growth in stadiums, colleges, kiosks, and airports.

Potential franchisees interested in learning more about Quaker Steak & Lube can visit booth 530 at the Multi-Unit Franchising Conference. Candidates should have multi-unit ownership experience, preferably in the restaurant industry, at least $1 million in liquid assets and a minimum net worth of $3 million. Quaker Steak & Lube offers building designs to capitalize on the square footage, both inside and outside of the building, which includes the Custom Cruiser (freestanding) and Power Lube (freestanding or endcap), as well as conversions and non-traditional buildouts in stadiums, colleges, kiosks, and airports. Quaker Steak & Lube has an AUV that’s higher than most casual restaurants.
