Playa Real Tequila, the Austin-based brand producing one of the only 100 percent blue agave, 80-proof, triple-distilled flavored premium tequilas in the world, announced that all three of the company’s products received top honors at the 2019 World Tequila Awards. Leading the pack, Playa Real Pineapple was named the overall “Best Flavored Tequila,” in the world, with Playa Real Mandarin winning Gold in the same category. Playa Real Silver received Bronze in the “Best Blanco Tequila” category.

The World Tequila Awards are part of The World Drink Awards, the global awards that select the very best in all the internationally recognized styles of drinks. Presented by TheDrinksReport.com, the world’s number one online resource for drinks professionals, the World Drinks Awards honor the world’s best spirits to consumers and trade across the globe.

These accolades add to the impressive list of industry awards received since the brand’s launch in January 2018. At the 2018 Artisan Awards, Playa Real’s Silver and Pineapple products received Gold Medals and Mandarin was honored with a Silver Medal. Additionally, Playa Real Tequila was awarded the Silver Medal for all three of its tequila products at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. At the 2019 Los Angeles International Spirits Competition, both Playa Real Pineapple and Mandarin products received Gold Medals, with Playa Real Silver taking home the Silver Medal. At the New York International Spirits Competition, Playa Real Tequila was honored with the Silver Medal for its Pineapple product and the Bronze Medal for its Silver product.
