Pie Five Pizza Co. a subsidiary of Pizza Inn Holdings, Inc, announced that it has awarded its first two franchise development agreements and will introduce its fast-casual custom pizza concept in Utah and North Carolina.

Pie Five awarded two multi-unit franchise development agreements with rights to open and operate up to 18 locations across Utah and in Charlotte, N.C. Development will begin in 2013 as Pie Five continues to expand the award-winning chain through corporate-owned locations and franchise development in major markets.

“We’re extremely excited to announce our first two franchise agreements with experienced multi-unit restaurant operators,” says Madison Jobe, chief development officer. “We’ve built a strong network of eight company-owned stores to prove the business model works, and now we’re ready to take fast-casual pizza to a whole new level. While we will continue to develop company-owned locations, we are ready to partner with franchisees to expand this incredible concept on a large scale and grow our fan base exponentially.

“Pie Five will also continue to build its infrastructure to support the increasing number of company-owned and franchised locations as we share this revolutionary concept with a growing audience of loyal customers,“ Jobe adds.

Pie Five was recently named by Nation’s Restaurant News as a 2012 Hot Concept award winner. Guests can choose from more than a million combinations of fresh made-to-order pizzas and a variety of specialty pie choices prepared in less than five minutes on a Crispy Thin, Classic Pan, Italian Herb Thin, or Gluten Free Crust.
