As wet salts become more and more popular, Peugeot introduces a Wet Salt Mill with an exclusive new 100 percent ceramic mechanism invented at the Peugeot spice mill lab in France. This innovative mechanism will be available in three styles to expand and complement popular Peugeot families of mills: Oleron Natural, Oleron Chocolate, Oleron Azure Blue and Molene White.
Wet salts are very corrosive and difficult to grind because of their texture. Salt crystals tend to gather together and block the reservoir. The new Peugeot Wet Salt Mill, patented specifically for wet salt, is the first to offer a higher and more consistent output, with a new anti-clogging spiral system. It is fully adjustable from fine to coarse by turning the knob, for unprecedented ease in grinding wet salt.
Peugeot’s helix mechanism works in a new way: it mixes and shuffles the salt, guiding its flow to guarantee a continuous, consistent and high volume output. Designed to prevent and avoid blockage in the mechanism, it features three wings to avoid friction of the teeth and offers extreme resistance. This ceramic mechanism contains no steel, which eliminates the risk of corrosion.

The new mills come filled with wet sea salt from the Guérande salt marshes in western France, where it is produced by the action of the ocean, sun and wind only. It is hand-harvested, using unique skills that have passed from generation to generation for 2,000 years.
Soft on the palate, wet salt is prized for its distinctive flavor profile, high in magnesium and oligo-elements. It is naturally grey in color and high in humidity because it’s harvested on clay soil. Moist, unwashed and unrefined, with no additives to interfere with its natural characteristics, Guérande wet sea salt offers a concentrated flavor that can finish a dish with a flourish.
Made in France, the new Wet Salt Mills are 5.5 inches tall, with clean lines and gently tapered silhouettes. The bodies, made of the highest quality acrylic, showcase the natural beauty of wet salt. The Oleron Natural and Chocolate Wet Salt Mills are topped with wooden heads made from PEFC-certified wood from sustainably managed forests in France. The Molene White Wet Salt Mill has a white acrylic head. Matching pepper mills are available for each style.
